Sunday, June 25, 2006 - Thanks to some great connections I was able to get the amazing seats for game 1 of the day/night doubleheader today. And what a game. Willis and Moose were locked into a pretty good pitching duel in which the Yankees battled to a 2-1 win. Moose got his 2,500 strikeout which was neat to see as well. And as this picture illustrates, there was a rain delay. But after they took the tarp off the rain pretty much held up the whole game with a few very light showers that lasted only briefly.
A play at the plate, a game winning homer, two possible future Hall of Famers taking the mound and a save from the greatest closer in baseball history. What more could you ask for?

Andy Phillips during warmups.

The new kid.

I have a feeling this guy will have a huge second half of the season.

The National Anthem.

Mike Mussina continues to show why he is the leader in this Yankee rotation. Another great start.

Posada has shown he can still get it done, at the plate and behind it.

One word: focused.

Damon supplied all the offense Sunday afternoon.

Damon at the plate.
(I have a lot more pictures from Sunday's game and will add them throughout the week.)

Arod's first atbat.

Everytime I see Miggy Cabrera, the first thing I think of is that homer off of Jeff Weaver Roger Clemens in the 2003 World Series.

(Thanks for the correction, Larry.)

I thought this picture came out well.

Cano facing Willis.

Cairo isn't a big deal but I thought this picture looked good.

Good Moose.

Will he be a Marlin much longer?

Right after Mussina's last inning.

This is one of the few times I took a shot while the ball was in play. I usually try to take them beforehand because I'm trying to pay attention to the game.
You can tell I'm clueless with this camera by the way the picture is tilted.

All smiles after the game.
